I don't understand..

While stuck at home fighting a stomach bug and strep, we have watched a lot of tv. We recently discovered The Brady Bunch as a family friendly show for us to all watch.

We were lucky enough to catch the three part episode where the gang goes to the Grand Canyon for a groovy family trip. While on their adventure they stopped at a ghost town and were tricked by an old prospector and locked in a jail cell. The old man runs off with their car and camper.

They try several methods of fetching the key hanging in a nail. Olivia was frustrated at their attempts. She says " why doesn't someone pull out their phone and call for help?"

Oh, to be born in 2005 and never know a world without cell phones, internet and DVRs!

Blind Dates

Olivia consumed all the Junie B Jones books like a bag of Lindnt truffles. So, we've moved on to Amelia Bedelia. In tonight's reading I learned a very interesting fact about blind dates.

"A blind date is a date where, when you are 17, your parents put blindfold over your eyes. You have a good friend who is a boy. His parents put a blindfold on him. Then your parents help you to the car and drive you to the resturant. They help you get out. The food; it is already on the table. Then they take the blindfold off."

I am glad that she has accepted that dating doesn't begin until 17, I get to drive and the boy is a friend.

Never Grow Up

This morning I told Olivia that she was not allowed to get any older. 7 is it. No more. Olivia then said this in response:

If Peter Pan comes to our house, I will wake everyone up. We can pack our bags and go to Neverland. If we all go to Neverland, we can all live together and never grow up.

I love her.
