What did you say?

We are on the way to the zoo. Olivia is re-reading Junie B and the stinky, smelly bus, out loud.
Mike says, "did we pack a pacifier (for Connor)?"
Olivia pipes up, "what fire? Where's the fire?"

Classic.

Connor's pants are falling down...

OAH " Connor is lucky because he has me. Well, except for when I get him crying so hard his pants fall down."

How does it feel?

This weekend Olivia and I had a mommy/daughter date. We had dinner at one of her favorite places Cracker Barrel and then went to target pick up some things that we needed to buy. The whole evening had been centered around anything and everything that Olivia wanted to talk about. Once we were back in the car on our way home Olivia asked,

Mommy, how does it feel to have all that stuff in your head?

I replied,
What do you mean all the stuff in my head?

Olivia said,
Well, you know physics and you're always having to answer all of my questions! You teach kids every day and Answer all those questions too.

My answer,
Overwhelming. Sometimes all the stuff in my head and all the questions you ask are just overwhelming.

Veggies

While grocery shopping, Michael says to Olivia "We need to find some more vegetables you will eat."
Olivia replies, " I eat lots of vegetables! Brocolli, asparagus, Leviticus ..."

Family Hug

While reading tonight, the topic of "family hug" came up. Liv said "We used to do family hugs, but now that we have Connor we don't." I reassured her that we still do family hugs, we just have Connor too. She said that Connor was going to take her place.
"No," I said "you and Connor will be in the middle of a daddy-mommy sandwich. You will be the ham and Connor will be the cheese."
"What? I'm not the ham! He's the ham! Look at him! He looks like a pork tenderloin!"

What rhymes with dimple?

On most Saturday mornings, we watch the cooking channel. This morning the Pioneer Woman was on. Not my favorite show. The host just smiles so much and says some strange things. I say out loud...

"The Pioneer Woman sort of annoys me."
Olivia says "yeah, she has huge nipples."
I look at her in shock,"what???!"
"She has HUGE NIPPLES!!" Says Livi pointing at her cheeks.
I sigh "oh!!! DIMPLES!"
She smiles and says "dimples"

Poor kid... Since her brother was born, she has seen and heard more about nipples than most kids.

I don't understand..

While stuck at home fighting a stomach bug and strep, we have watched a lot of tv. We recently discovered The Brady Bunch as a family friendly show for us to all watch.

We were lucky enough to catch the three part episode where the gang goes to the Grand Canyon for a groovy family trip. While on their adventure they stopped at a ghost town and were tricked by an old prospector and locked in a jail cell. The old man runs off with their car and camper.

They try several methods of fetching the key hanging in a nail. Olivia was frustrated at their attempts. She says " why doesn't someone pull out their phone and call for help?"

Oh, to be born in 2005 and never know a world without cell phones, internet and DVRs!
